St Martins has been shaped by the many hands, hearts and minds that have made it what it is today, on the same site for 40 years.
In 2020, St Martins marks its 40th year of nurturing artistic talent, telling thought-provoking stories and creating bold work with young people, for adult audiences. 40:40 is a celebration of, and homage to, the thousands of young people who have walked through the doors of St Martins since 1980. The project, in two parts, invites artists, young people and community members to ponder the big and small moments that have shaped who they are, as St Martins celebrates the people who have shaped it.

40:40 Online showcases stories from current participants and alumni – here and on the socials throughout the year.
In December, 40:40 Live will activate the entire St Martins site, for a once-only interaction with over 100 young people. Keep an eye out here for more details of 40:40 Live later in the year.
40:40 is an invitation to all those who are and have been through the doors of St Martins to
reconnect, re-enter and re-discover the site.
