Fabio Motta (he/him)

WORKSHOP ARTIST

Fabio Motta began his journey in the world of theatre with Commedia dell’Arte, training at the Accademia Teatrale Veneta in Italy. After falling in love with clowning, he moved to France to work with Master Clown teacher Philippe Gaulier. He then furthered his studies in clowning, masks and bouffon with Giovanni Fusetti, Zack Fines and Christopher Bayes. A proud alum of HB Studio, Fabio has performed in film, television, theatre and devised shows for the past fifteen years in Italy, Australia and the USA.

His work has taken him from the streets of Venice, to outdoor Shakespeare Festivals, and even to air-conditioned theatres like the Sydney Opera House. Fabio has taught workshops at HB studio, The Actors Studio (Pace University), NYU Tisch School of the Arts and the Ume Group in New York, 16th Street Acting Studio, The Victorian College of the Arts (BA acting program), Brave studios, the National Theatre Drama School and The Clowning Workshop.

Most recently he finished his critically acclaimed solo show “SPOT” at Theatre Works after his sold-out season in 2021. He is thrilled to be a workshop artist with St Martins Youth Arts Centre.
