The birthday candles are lit. A caterpillar cake. Laughter echoes. But memory doesn’t last forever.

threadbare is a moving new play that explores the heartbreak and beauty of caring for someone with dementia. As Sasha supports their Grandmother Elaine through the slow unravelling of memory, they’re forced to confront the fragile bonds of family – both chosen and blood.

Poetic, intimate, and deeply human, threadbare is a story of queer identity, intergenerational love, and the quiet grief of watching a loved one slip away.
