Imperfect Fruit
by JMC Academy
Brought to life by the Trimester 3 cohort and directed by Deborah Leiser-Moore and Steven Mitchell Wright
Step inside a living triptych inspired by Hieronymus Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights.
Imperfect Fruit invites audiences to journey through three worlds: Before the Fall, The World in Bloom, and Judgement.
Each panel unfolds as a visceral theatrical experience, blurring the sacred and the profane, the beautiful and the grotesque.
Part ritual, part game, part fever dream, this bold devised work explores humanity’s endless appetite for pleasure and destruction. Moving through the panels, the audience encounters a collision of image, sound, and movement that transforms Bosch’s infamous painting into a meditation on the divine, temptation, and consequence.
Inventive, irreverent, and deeply human, Imperfect Fruit invites you to taste from the tree but beware what follows.
