With an eclectic range of jobs, Shayne Cummin has worked in arts administration and the events sector for over twenty years.
Shayne Cummin has been working in the arts and events sector for over 20 years. Starting out in administration for the National Multicultural Festival, Shayne was acting, producing and directing with an amateur theatre company in their spare time. Later, working in administration for the Australian Choreographic Centre and Gorman House Art Centre. Then moving to the Australian War Memorial as a film and sound preservation technician. Later, pivoting to graphic design and working as an in-house designer for Australian Ethical Investment. In addition to their day jobs, Shayne was promoting club and variety events in 3 states. Seeking a fresh start, they made the move to Melbourne permanently, and after venue and bar managing a series of venues, they progressed to the Butterfly Club. Initially working as a shift manager and eventually became a venue manager. Eventually, they moved on seeking a new challenge and joined the team at St Martins Youth Arts Centre as Presenter Services Coordinator in 2023.
