Since our inception as a youth arts centre in 1977, thousands of people have passed through our doors.

St Martins holds a special place in many people’s hearts as the place they first stepped on stage, ignited their artistic passion, found their voice or made lifelong friends.

At St Martins we’ve prided ourselves in offering a space where young people have felt safe to develop their creativity, confidence and learn more about themselves.

We’ve nurtured many young artists including Catherine McClements, Noah Taylor, Ben Mendelson, Julia Zemero, Matt Day, Barrie Kosky, and Mark Trevorrow (Bob Downe).

Many popular comedy partnerships met here including Colin Lane and Frank Woodley (Lano and Woodley), Jane Turner and Gina Riley (Kath & Kim), and Scott Edgar, Simon Hall and Steven Gates (Tripod). Angie Hart from Frente tells us St Martins is the place she discovered her love of singing.

Whether you’re a current member, a parent, someone who worked backstage or performed on stage, we invite you to share your story.
